THE REST OF ITALY
SICILY
Offers something for everyone and it is impossible to list all of the island's attractions. Just some are the towns of Siracusa and Agrigento, with their Greek architectural remains, the Noto valley, with its UNESCO protected baroque towns, seaside towns such as Cefalu and Taormina and baroque Ortigia; the countryside around the Madonie/Nebrodi mountain ranges and the coastline around Castellamare del Golfo and Scopello. Sicilay also has the most varied cuisine in Italy, influenced over the years by the countless invaders.

SARDINIA
Sardinia is a sea lover's paradise. The beautiful long white beaches, stunning gorges, cliffs soaring above the sea, and little isolated coves, many accesible only by foot or boat, were of little use until the island transformed itself with the advent of modern travel and tourism. Among the most beautiful stretches of coastline are the Costa Paradiso, Costa Verde, Costa Rei and, of course, the famous Costa Smeralda, with its stunning rock formations, sailing and diving.
UMBRIA
In the green heart of Italy, it is the only region with no access to the sea or foreign borders and has long been overshadowere by its northern neighbour, Tuscany. But this quiet, soulful, introspective land is developing a rival reputation.
